Pelican Lakes and RainDance National Golf Course are two of the most scenic and exciting golf courses in the United States and in Colorado Golf. Located in Windsor, Colorado, these courses offer a unique experience for golfers of all levels. Pelican Lakes is known for its seven and a half miles of shoreline, making it the most shoreline on a golf course in the United States. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including pelicans, and is a popular destination for golfers and non-golfers alike.

RainDance National is one of Colorado’s new golf courses (as of 2022) and was the dream of its owner for decades. After years of planning and construction, the course opened in 2019 and has been a hit ever since. Head Pro Chris Williamson gave us a tour of the course and shared some of the unique features that make it stand out.

Designed By a Professional Golfer

If you follow the PGA Tour, you’re likely familiar with Fred Funk. But if not, here are his claims to fame:

  • 8 PGA Tour wins
  • 9 PGA Tour Champions wins
  • Induction into the University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame and Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame

With the opening of the new golf course, Windsor, CO will become a premier golfing destination. Westward mountain peaks give way to an open valley in the northwest, providing a beautiful backdrop for a round of golf. The 8,400-yard, 18-hole golf course is situated in the high plains, with an elevation change of about 250 feet.

A Tour of RainDance National

From the 18th tee box, you can see 13 different holes. One of the signature par threes is the 275-yard hole 8, which features an island-looking green. Hole 4 and 5 are back-to-back 600-yard par fours, making them some of the longest holes on the course. The 40-yard distance makes them playable for all levels of golfers.

The course was designed by PGA Tour professional and champion Fred Funk. He had a few distinct visions for the course, including the par three green and the tee boxes scattered throughout. His intention was not to torture people, but to create a course that was playable for all levels of golfers.

Northern Colorado is experiencing a golf boom, and RainDance National is part of that. It is located in a perfect location, close to the front range cities and amenities, but still surrounded by open space and farm land.

Measuring at 61,500 square feet, The G.O.A.T. Ranch is the largest putting green in Colorado and 10 times larger than the average putting green on the PGA Tour, promising 10 times the fun. This world-class practice facility not only allows players a place to hone their putting, chip, bunker, and pitch shots, but also welcomes friendly competition. The perfect place to introduce juniors and families to the game with no pressure, or host an unforgettable event, The G.O.A.T. Ranch is fun for all ages.
