Chuck Cook: Distance Control Chipping Drill
Are you struggling with controlling the distance of your chip shots in golf? If so, I have a great drill designed by Chuck Cook that can help you improve your distance control. In this article, I will explain the drill and how it can benefit your game.
The Distance Control Drill
Chuck Cook suggests a simple yet effective drill to improve distance control in chip shots. Here’s how it works:
- Place a Wet Towel: Start by placing a wet towel onto the green, about one step onto the grain. This will create a target area for your chip shots.
- Land the Ball on the Towel: Your goal is to practice landing your ball on the towel and making it finish within one club length of the hole. This will help you develop a better understanding of the trajectory needed to control the distance of your chip shots.
