Now let's meet the founders of the Veterans Golf Association to hear how they help our veterans. What we do is enrich the lives of veterans through the game of golf. So we host competitive golf tournaments for veterans and their families all across the country. Uh, last year, uh, we did 1200 golf tournaments for over 17,000 VGA members nationwide. So when we, you transition from being active duty over to the, the, the veteran community, you kind of lose that daily camaraderie, you know, with your fellow battle buddies, your shipmates and our members get together on the golf course, they're able to kind of go back and, and, and we reli those days of, of being together. You know, there's a lot of banter, you know, that only service members kind of, kind of bring out in one another. Right. You know, whatever ails them, whether it's aches, pains, memories, kind of goes away for 18 holes, you know, and they make lifelong friends because, you know, they make gold to go, Hey, let's go play again next weekend. Or, oh, hey, the BGA has a tournament, you know, in, in this city, this state. Let's make a plan to go do that. And for, and for our members and for Josh and I, you know, that's a huge part of, of, uh, of what we see in the camaraderie with the vga. The interesting thing about golf is golf is the one sport where a combat wounded individual can compete against an able bodied individual. You know, Joe is an amputee. He can still go out and compete against those, um, individuals that have two legs and, you know, talk, talk smack against the Marines and the, the navy squids up there, and then, And always the Air Force. And always the Air Force. Yep. Coast Guard too. Yeah. It's way more about the camaraderie than it is a competition. We try to keep it affordable. So it's $76 a year to be a, a VGA member, and then we charge $20 per, uh, for a registration fee for each of our tournaments, plus our green, uh, the green fees. What's really interesting about the VGA is that we're, we're not only just for veterans, but we're also for family members of veterans. That encompasses about 99% of all golfers. If you're the family member of a veteran, come out and join us. We have a whole family division that you compete in. Really what a, what what it is about the vga, um, is it allows, uh, our veterans to set goals for themselves, ultimately attain them. And the thing that we're really proud about is, since we founded this organization in 2014, we have lost zero VGA members of suicide. You know, and that's a big deal in our veteran community. So we think that our programming is getting out to veterans, um, it's helping affect their lives, helping saves lives, save lives, and we're all, we're doing that all through the game of golf. The events themselves are, are tremendous. I I have witnessed some tremendous golf from the, uh, from the veteran community. We have players that they're playing abilities, or I'm on par with, with, I, I, I'll say like, you know, some, some of your top level Korn Ferry and PGA guys, You know, but every single VGA member, that's what's cool about this. Every single VGA member has an opportunity to play in Armed Forces Cup or to compete in one of our national championships. So if you want to donate to our organization, you can go to vga golf.org, click on donate. Uh, if you, uh, you know, if you're a veteran or the family member of a veteran, uh, then, and you want to be become a member, go to VGA goff.org. Sign up to be a member. It takes about 24 hours for your membership to process. And then you're gonna get all of the access to our sites that all of our members. And if you just wanna follow us on social media at VGA Golf, on Facebook and uh, and Instagram, and, um, and you just kind of see for yourself, is this something that you're, you're interested in? Uh, and if, if you are interested, we'd love to have you join the VJ family. That's right.
