>>Hello And welcome to Golf Life. Thanks for joining us today. We're in Sedona, Arizona. Now, the weather has come in a little bit, but over the last couple days, oh my goodness, wait till you see. It's been spectacular here at Seven Canyons Golf Club, where they're doing a grand reopening of this Tom Weiskopf design. Also, Roger Clemens is putting on a charity event. We're taking you inside this unbelievable location. Wait till you see this. Stick around. Let's have some fun. >>Hook 'em. >>So here we are at Seven Canyons, another beautiful day, chamber of Commerce, of course, and we got some fun coming. I got some really cool, what we call celebrities, old time, great friends. And we're gonna play a little golf and we're gonna do a little sing. We're gonna raise some money for charities while we're at it. So it doesn't get much better than this. Every 15 minutes, there's another postcard view around here. So just take a look. >>OHHH! >>gorilla. Get over everything, baby. I think to say that I'm kind of blown away would be a understatement. You know, tremendous topography. I mean, the beauty is, is beyond belief. I had no idea that this don't possess this kind of beauty. I always heard that it was gripe, but you know, it's always, uh, an undersell. I mean, it's way better than you expect. And I'm really, really, really happy to be here. You know what, I noticed so many people hiking. It seems like a very healthy place to be. Um, and so if you want to call it a vortex or just a spirit or a vibe, uh, it seems like that kind of a place where, where people who who are here are active and they're doing things and they're, uh, and they're probably better because of it. I, I, I can see why, why people wanna live here and why people visit here. I can assure you that this is not my last time here. Well, I'm still competing. I'm 65 and I'm near the end of the, the Road on the Champions Tour. Uh, but still, still working hard, still trying, still trying to be competitive. Uh, have a, I think a very successful golf design business, which I'm very active with. Things are going well on that end as well. Very involved with a, a inner city program in Phoenix called Elevate Phoenix, which is also going extremely well. Happily married, four kids, two grandkids. I'm a blessed man, and in my life is going great. >>You did what? >>Well, we all took amphetamines right before we started playing, and so we don't really know what's happening. We're just very fast. But, you know, it's a lot of good fun. And, Tom started speaking a different language. He's never spoken before, so it's a real mess. >>You are the good bogey. >>Good bogey, baby. Just take a look. You know, for me it's the prettiest golf course in the state, and I've played pretty much all the, all of them. So, um, just, it, it's just beautiful Everywhere you look, you know, it's, it's beautiful. You know, the golf course is great. Tom Weiskopf did a great job with the golf course. It's in great shape, you know, you gotta, people gotta come out and see this. It's beautiful. You know, Sedona, world renowned, you know, everybody knows Sedona. What doesn't matter what country you go to people, people know Sedona. You know, you go outside any, any state and in the union and you know, they ask about Sedona. I think that's, it's, uh, enchanted is what you might say, but it's one of the wonders of the, of the world, I think. I mean, you know, everywhere you look the Red Rocks and it's just, it's incredible. Well, I retired from playing professional golf. Um, so I'm now selling real estate for Russ Lyon down in Scottsdale. So that's keeping me busy. I just, when I, when I quit playing, I had to find something to do. 'cause I just got bored going out and hitting balls or going to play, you know, and stuff. So it's, it's a challenge and it'll be, I think it'll be fun, But it's, it's stunning. It's absolutely a beautiful course. You, you look at it today and, um, yeah, I mean, who could, who, who would not wanna play this all the time? It's fair for it. It doesn't penalize short hitters and it doesn't penalize long hitters that much. But, you know, you have to, you know, in a typical Weiskopf course you have to keep it straight. You have to keep it in the fairway. So, I mean, ever since baseball is, is no longer a part of my life. So filling the void, the, the, the, the, the competitor in me still, you know, wanted to do something and, and golf definitely fills, fills that void. Um, to me it's the best game on earth, you know? And I didn't realize it. So I didn't really play back in the day when I was playing baseball. So, I picked it up in 2019 and, you know, I got the bug and, you know, right away I just enjoyed the game. it's such a tough game. It's a humbling game. You learn so much about yourself on the golf course and, and you meet great people and, but it's so much fun. You learn so much about people and, and, eh, I love it. Originally from Montreal, so no more winter, uh, sun all year long and enjoying time with the kids, playing golf. Uh, just joined, uh, SilverLeaf out there and in North Scottsdale. So got some, some buddies, some ex-teammates that are up there. And we play a couple times a week. And, um, you know, just, just been really enjoying life and, and enjoying the kids while they're young and before they get too busy to, to want to hang out with dad. So that's kind of got away from the game of baseball a little bit. And, and, um, but now I have, uh, kid number four on the way and he's gonna be a boy. So, so I might, you know, have to, you know, get back into the old baseball, uh, lifestyle. So, so seven Canyons, un unbelievable place. Uh, and we got such a beautiful day today. I think we got lucky. It's just a great place. Great course. Um, so looking forward to finishing Strong.
