This is Golf Life dedicated to changing the future of the game. Today on Golf Life, we present the shootout at Horseshoe Bay Resort. Hi everybody. I'm de Rambo joined by PGA Champion Rich Beam. What a cool show we have today, four professionals from the PGA and the LPGA Doing Battle at this gorgeous Summit Rock course here at Horseshoe Bay. Yes, today we're joined by Bob Estes, four time PGA tour winner and Angela Stanford, uh, LPGA major champion. And they're gonna go up against Nick Watney five time PGA Tour champion and Jina Mendoza four-Time Solheim Cup participant. We're gonna see some great action out there from these wonderful players Awesome golf course. We're also gonna take a deeper look inside this fabulous resort at Horseshoe Bay. It's Amazing. I know You guys chose to be members here. We are. We, uh, are making our home out here in the next 10 months or so. Cannot wait to be a part of it full time, but I can't say enough great things about Horseshoe Bay and the development they have going on out here. It's fantastic. We're gonna go to our third member of our Golf Life team, Hillary Kennedy, who's talking to the players before the match. Thanks so much, Dee. You know, everything is bigger and better in Texas, including the talent. And I'm here with the four amazing golfers that are participating in the shootout here today at Horseshoe Bay. I'm gonna start with our first team, Angela Stanford and Bob Estes. How does it feel, because you're our home team, you're our Texans, but Angela, you've never played on this course before. What are you most excited about? Well, I'm always excited to play in Texas and, and more so I get to play with Bob today and I've heard so much about this property and I can't wait to see it. I've been down to Horseshoe Bay before and it's as wonderful as I remember. It is really beautiful. And Bob, you've played this course a couple of times. What are your thoughts? Are there's some, some places that you find challenging? Oh yeah. It's a great golf course. Yeah, there's a, a wide variety of holes. Um, it's a difficult golf course, especially from the back tees where I think Nick and I are playing today. And, um, just looking forward to playing it again. Yeah. What can we expect from the, the stroke play that's coming up? Do you have any, uh, any insights for us? Well, I'm relying heavily on Angela. Um, and so, but hopefully we'll both play well. Alright. No pressure, Angela. We're ready. We're ready. Alright, so now I'm moving on to Jina Mendoza and Nick Watney. You guys are sort of the, the outsiders, if you will, but you have played the course before. What are your thoughts on the course here at Ho Course you bay at Summit Rock? Um, I think it's awesome. I've played it a a number of times and always in great shape. Um, as Bob said, it's very challenging, different holes. Um, you definitely use all the clubs in your bag, which as a golfer, that's kind of what we're looking for when we get a good golf course versus a bad golf course. And so, uh, just looking forward to playing it and, uh, hopefully beating them Well. And this is all due to you, Nick. So what are you looking forward to? And also what are your thoughts on your opponents over here? Well, the, I've heard a lot about the golf course. It's nice to finally be out here. Um, as far as our opponents go, you know, we know what we're up against. Mm-Hmm. Um, definitely some, uh, some of the great players in the game. So, um, we're gonna see what we learn and, uh, as Bob said, I'm gonna lean on my partner Again. No pressure for the ladies. Well, this is a matchup that golf fans have been wanting to see LPGA and PGA pitted against each other. So this is gonna be an exciting day. I think we're ready to tee off. So let's head out Rich. Our players will be playing here at Summit Rock. It's a Jack Nicholas design here at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The format is a best ball, stroke play where the player with the lowest score on a hole is scored for the hole. So if a team gets an eagle and then the other team has a par, that'd be a two stroke swing. Our players will be playing 10 holes today on Summit Rock. They're teeing it up here on number one. Bob Estes hit his first drive and striped it down the middle here on number one wa pulled a three wood, uh oh, get some water. However, he pulled that shot short into a fairway pot bunker, leaving him a difficult second shot into this green complex. Angela Stanford cheated up from the three dot TSS two T boxes up from the men's. Alright, right down the middle there. Alright. Alright. Where you want Last but not least is Andrew is a horn frog. T-C-U-T-C-U. Horn. Frog. And Bob Ess was a Longhorn. I know. So we've got two Texas players playing against two other, I guess you would say New Mexico and California. Right? Yeah. That's surprising That, you know, you can actually get a Longhorn and a horn frog to get along To kind of Yeah. Operate on the same team. Right. Jina, Mendoza and Angela have both found the fairway. Now talk to me about the Nicholas course here. You know, this signature course. There's something about Jack Nicholas design courses that are different than some of the other designers out there. What would you pull out? Yeah, I, I think whenever I think of a Nicholas course, I always think about the, uh, the green complexes. You know, they all have some pretty cool characteristics to 'em. There's nothing flat and boring about him, you know, and he is got these different pockets. The thing I like about it out here though, is that, that what he's done is, is there's not really one direct way to get to a flag stick. You know, where a lot of places you kind of think just hit it right at the flag stick and this and that. Here you've got different places like pins, you know, over on the left hand side. You can actually hit it way out on the right hand side, utilize some of the slopes that he's got out here. And actually, that's probably the best way to get to, to some of them. So I think this golf course is, is unique in that way because they're, you know, it's, it's almost like a user-friendly, uh, golf course more than anything else. And I think that's what I like about it the most. 'cause you come out here, you know you're gonna challenged, but you're not gonna get beat up. Number one, we're heading into this long par five. Number two, Watney found trouble off the T. His partner Jina Mendoza striped her drive right down the middle, giving her a chance to go for the hole in two team. Stanford and Estes are also sitting right out in the middle of the fairway. Es this is playing a second shot from what, about two 60 here? I would think so. I think that's probably about right. Maybe a little bit less than that. Hell but wind though. I mean, the swing hasn't changed. It's so funny. We're having breakfast and he starts talking about, oh, I've been flat all of my life, this and that, and I've got finally gotten where my swings were upright. It, it, it's not upright, it's still, it's still, you know, west Texas flat. You know, like you grew up Four time winner on the tour. You know, didn't he hold the record for like, the number of consecutive rounds in the sixties at some point? Just broken by Victor Hoblin? Bob Estes record. Was it really? Yeah. I can see that Hobbling just broke it. Yeah. This last year. Beautiful Shot. Yes. It was by Mendoza And the crowd. Yeah. Showing their appreciation as she approaches here on number two, lion three green side on number two here. Nick Watney chipped and came up short with his birdie attempt. Bob Estes use a putter on the green for his eagle attempt, but came up short as well. Ooh, this is gonna be nifty. A tight lie up and over a bunker. Good news. Greens are soft from all the rains. Yeah. Stanford's line two right here, right in front of the green, up and over the bunker. Ooh. Came in low with some spin. Nicely done. Yeah. Left in about five feet, rich after a great second shot into the par five. Jina had this long putt for Eagle. She nestled a right up short and Bob Estes conceded the putt. So here he is trying to push the hole for birdie from about five feet and he does. With all that, we're square heading into the third hole. Let's catch up with Hillary Kennedy out on the course. When I'm on the road, I try to go to baseball games. Um, I've seen all the major League baseball parks, so Oh, nice. I love doing stuff like that. Um, and really just like being at home for as much as we travel. I just like to take it easy. Absolutely. Well, and if you have to be on the road, it's nice to be at a place like this where you can play around a golf, but they've got all these other things you can do to relax. Yeah. When I checked in, you know, I was here a long time ago in college, and when I checked in last night, I saw the pools and I saw the 360 bar and the putting green that goes around it. And, um, definitely want to come back when I have some downtime and, um, enjoy all the amenities. I mean, even even golf. Like, if I'm gonna come down here, I'd love to play all the golf courses, right. So, um, I, you know, I think this is awesome. I've, I've truly enjoyed it. You're Doing great. Yeah, this is probably one of those pictures, uh, spots you're gonna find out here. You can see, uh, the other golf courses. You got Apple Rock and Ram Rock way over there. You can see this is where you wanna be. Well, we're all nodded up coming into this par three. Number three, all four players have put it on the green. Well, no three of 'em did. Uh, Angela hit, um, a semis shank potus ah, shank of sous Never good. No matter how you kind of, You know. No, it's, it's, um, it's way off to the right. But, uh, there's no doubt her, her short, her mad chipping game skills are gonna, uh, come to the forefront. Yeah, Send her partner Bob is right there in front of the green down at the lower level. Hillary caught up with the man responsible for this great event. Brian Woodward of Crescent Hotels and Resorts. So Brian, I bet you are so excited about this event and how you've seen it grow here at Horseshoe Bay over the years. Yeah, It's our fifth installment of the shootout and we couldn't be more excited just to have the gallery and the talent that's here today. Um, you know, but we really couldn't do it without our ownership group. So, uh, Jordan Jaffe and the Jaffe family's just done an, uh, outstanding, uh, capital improvement plan, but just, you know, they're all about experiences. Nah, mostly just straight up hill. All about the pace, really. You know, I noticed with Bob S's putting and very pronounced how much, how he weights his front Foot. Yeah. He just kind of sit there and kind of camps out on that Mm-Hmm. That left side a little bit. And then basically just rocks his shoulders back and forth to kind of help keep that lower body a lot more stable. Still quiet or where's whatever cool term you want to use. And again, you know, where he grew up. You gotta figure out a way to stable yourself somehow in that way. Yeah. Uh, well, uhoh stretch it out. Uhoh, Oh boy. NDA Mendoza lighting up this crowd here at Summit Rock. Draining that bird pot here to give first team a one shot lead after Three. Then SA nice put, that was, uh, not the easiest one to read because it looks like it wants to break hard from right to left with, especially with the valley down there and just kind of stayed up there Right on. She rolled it True. It was perfect. It was a, uh, it was a very nice spot. There are courses with a view and there are courses with a view like this. The Horseshoe Bay Resort has used every bit of the Texas Hill Country beauty to create an unforgettable golfing experience. Uh, we have four Worldclass championship style golf courses and also an 18 hole real grass cutting course. Three clubhouses, uh, variety from difficulty of easy to very difficult, uh, and four completely different style golf courses. Robert Trent Jones does a great job with using the natural landscape and not really moving too much earth to carve in the golf courses. So, slick Rock is our member favorite golf course. Robert Trent Jones did a fantastic job with making a golf course that's not extremely difficult, but without compromising the beauty of the golf course. It's a little flatter in terrain, but it has some beautiful holes and great water features. It's a fan favorite for those that come here. Apple Rock is considered the beauty of the four courses. Apple Rock has great hill country. Vista views captures the lake on a few of the holes, um, just beautiful wildlife and a difficult golf course if you play it from the back tees. Ram Rock is considered our most difficult golf course from the back tees, and it is a tree lined, designed golf course with many dog legs, water features, island greens on par threes, and just a beautiful, fun golf course to play. So Summit Rock, uh, Jack Nicholas's signature design, and he did a, a great job with designing that golf course through the meadows and through tall scu grasses, which really captures each hole and makes it feel like each hole is a signature hole. He's also very clever with creating natural resources as the aiming targets throughout the golf course. Um, subtle water features throughout the golf course, and it makes it, uh, an experience that is, is really enjoyable to play, but also very beautiful and distinct in its own right. Whitewater putting course is a very unique amenity for us. It's an all grass putting course 18 holes with a sports bar centered right in the middle of it. So we're a full service golf instruction facility, uh, from fitting to club repair to golf instruction, clinics, academies, private instruction. And so we're excited. We're gonna be launching our new golf academy here in November, which will be two indoor bays that has state-of-the-art technology that can measure anything that's moving in the golf swing or the golf ball, multiple camera angles in these bays. We're also gonna have eight outdoor hitting bays that have technology with that as well. Heading into hole number four, we have Watney and Mendoza up one, let's catch up with the action as Bob Estes hits his approach from the fairway. Ooh, this could be good. Very nice shot that approach by Estes right there. Got him right back in this game. Yeah, that's Really nice right there. Angela really pounded one down here. She put one right out in front. Yeah. Out drove Jina. Yeah, I mean, that was, She stepped on that one. That was mushed. A little Texas pride flare in there. They don't, uh, they don't want to be one broke down. Good try With angelian tight. They gave her the birdie. So here's Jina putting for birdie on number three. Another birdie. Yeah, that's, that's, That's a push on this hole because I've already already Fastest and Stanford birdie there Too. Yep. I mean, it's just, uh, It's just carrying the load right now. I know she's 300 through four in her own ball. Yeah. And it could have been 400 just barely missed a put on the first hole. So right now you got it dialed in. It's fun to watch. Well, so when you get finished today, you're, you're done playing golf. What's one thing that you wanna do to relax and unwind while you're here at Horseshoe Bay Resort? Man, I mean, the, the views are amazing. You know, we are up on that the third tee there and there was a rainbow, uh, you see the lake and, and whatnot. So, um, I think just try to take in the property and, um, yeah, the, the relaxing part will happen. Hit the hot tub. Well, having fun watching you. Thanks so much With us. Yeah. All right. So setting up number five here. Let's talk about Texas golf a little bit, rich. Yes. You know, I wanted to ask you, you know, you've been, you've spent a lot of time playing Texas golf, obviously growing up as a kid and, and there's been a lot of Texas golfers have had success on the tour. Yeah. What is it about Texas and Texas golfers? Y you know, I mean, I think that, you know, you kind of said it there perfectly. You, you grew up playing in all kinds of different conditions, you know, and you get to some of these, you know, barbecue circuit golf courses, you know, as I like to call it. And the conditions aren't perfect and you kind of, you figure out how to get it done. You know, Ben Hogan always is digging it outta the dirt, you know, and what he truly meant by that is, is just figuring it out. It's the Calcutta is, you know, the stories, the, the people that you engage, you know, the hustlers, the gamblers, the, I mean, it's just, it's such a unique experience and it's just so different because listen, as you well know, you can walk into a, into a clubhouse and you'll see some guy with a dirty pet of wranglers on some cowboy boots and he taped up and whatnot, and you could shoot, shoot, yeah. Shirt stained and he's gonna go out there and he is just gonna, he's gonna wear you out, you know? And I think that you just don't, you don't take anything for granted. And you go out there and you hustle every single day. That's the thing I love about playing Texas. Mm-Hmm. There's always something to play for. You had some skin in the game and you better bring your A game. Yeah. Or you're gonna leave empty handed and, and listen, you lose some quarters, you're gonna lose some quarters, man. And I'd say I didn't like losing quarters. So, um, I think that's a real unique thing about Texas. I'm sure everybody out here could tell you, you know? Yeah. There's always something on the line. Yeah. Something on the line. When a resort offers up its own private airport and FBO as amenities, it's safe to assume that every event and every detail will be attended to Our airport makes us super unique here at Horseshoe Bay Resort. It is a full service private airport. You can have a personal aircraft or business aircraft, and we also offer some jet services as well. What makes this awesome is it is a 6,000 foot landing strip as well. So you can even land, you know, a huge aircraft charter as well. When you land at our private airport, you can be transported from that private airport to our resort within minutes, which makes it super accessible for people to fly into our resort from all across the country and come experience Horseshoe Bay Resort. We have so many different outlets here at our resort, which really helps us activate so many different areas when we bring in groups and businesses. So whether it's a big group, we have a 12,000 square foot ballroom that we can put them in. And we also offer a bunch of breakout rooms and meeting rooms that we can have them break out in as well, uh, with a variety of dining outlets to offer. Those are always an option too. When we have groups come in, we have an in-house catering team at Horseshoe Bay Resort. I think it just kind of appealed to us that we can come out and, you know, sit down on our porch night and look up and see stars. This is where my favorite vacation is. I love coming out to Horseshoe Bay, Texas. And so like, why wouldn't we just move out here next fall this time? We'll be in there just hanging out. And the good thing is, is anytime you come into my house, there's always gonna be a cold beer in the refrigerator. And if there's not, you get to burn my house down. I might have to test that there. Don't bring any matches. Angela's got about a straight downhill 12 footer. Just looks like it's got a little bend to the left in it. Kinda like that. Pour it Right in. Lemme get that for you. Yeah. Number five. Yeah, they made a nice little birdie. We're At the halfway point and we're tied up 3, 3, 3 holes a piece. It's, uh, and now you get to some fun holes. Yeah. You know, you got a par three upcoming. Um, and then you have a drive old par four, and then you got three really difficult holes driving holes on eight, nine, and 10. Let's see what happens. Could be a pivotal hole here as we start the, the back nine as it were. Yeah. You know, I mean, it's kinda get to that point where things are getting a little on the real side. You know, players have already kind of eased into their rounds a little bit now it's kind of like, okay, kind of get, you know, it's like boxers, you know, kind of jabbing a little bit, but, you know, get, feel like somebody's gonna take a swing here sooner or maybe knock it along. Birdie putt ship something in here. So, uh, it's always kind of that time where it's like, okay, somebody's gotta make a move. Who's Gonna be the shootout? Horseshoe Bay continues, wa came up short with his long putt. Bob Estes came very close, missing just right of the hole and Jina didn't get the breaks. She was looking for Angela Stanford lining up her putt here. Eight tournament wins, won her major in the Avon championship at close to 40 years old. Yeah, that's, uh, that's remarkable. I mean, really when you get to that age and you've had so many close calls, like she had that at some point, you know, the scar tissue, the, oh, how am I gonna lose this one again for her to power through that and get that victory, that was seriously impressive. Going, keep going. That was right. It's okay. It should be Kicked off the team lag. Good lag. So no blood here on number six and our players head into this cool short par four, number seven here on Summit Rock. Number seven here. Looks like there's more action out in the fairway than some of the holes we've played so far. Yeah, a couple trees and pot bunkers out there. Yeah. You know, again, though, you get plenty of space off the left hand side. You know, Bob didn't quite have the firepower to get there, but I think Nick might Go, Looks like he's going for it up between those trees. See down in front of those trees there. Yeah, I think so. Interesting hole. Nice short par four. Really interesting for it, Right? Yeah. Love it. I mean you can, you can make a two or a six. So tricky. Bob and Reina are both up there within about 20 feet. And uh, Nick's playing his, he went for it from the tee box back there, trying to throw it up there at three 50 or so. And he's got himself a nice little lie up inside the trees. Well done. Sensational. Well done. Touch a class right there. Yeah. So we may see the first birdie on the board for Mr. Watney. Hey Rerun. It was given to him. He made a birdie, But Jess, he made a birdie. Wa he's on the board. That's gotta make him feel better Off the Schneider. We were talking about him rallying on the back nine. That's Right. This Is the back nine. Here he comes. So Estes has to make his looks like about 18 to 20 feet in order to stay knotted at three winds a piece. And the flag is back in the hole. Yes. And that's a one-up lead. That is a one up From Watney Mendoza. I know. He finally, we actually can put his name in that vein now. That's right. Because it was all her. I think he's walking a little taller right now. Oh, beautiful shot landed about five feet, backed it up with a little bit of spin and she's in good shape here on this number eight green. So it looks like each team has a contender up there Close asked us through a tremendous sand shot out from mid fairway. So Ena you are playing incredibly well. What are your thoughts about playing on this Jack Nicholas designed course. Have you had a great time so far? Um, it's been amazing. Um, yeah, hitting some good shots and, um, you know, the whole saying drive for show putt for dough. So I've been making some putts. So that's, it's always a good day when you start making putts. Yes. Your wedge day has been awesome. And are you and your partner you feel like you guys are in sync doing, doing well? Uh, yeah. You know, last hole, um, he made a birdie. So, you know, he's, he's definitely contributing and, um, he failed to tell you guys this, but we have been partners before and we won. Oh. So we're, we're like undefeated. So we're, we're, we're riding this, this high train here. Okay. So our, Our expectations are really high now that we know the insider information, But, but the first time he carried me, so I'm returning the favor. So yeah. I'm giving him some time off. Two up with two to play. Let's see if the Texans can bring it back. So one of the things that you'll notice here at Horseshoe Bay Resort is there is an experience for everybody's taste. As you've heard, there's over 7,000 acres. There are four distinct golf courses, there are many pools, hot tubs. There's a tennis and pickleball club. There's a full marina on LBJ and there is a spectacular yacht club. So there's definitely no shortage of things to do. So let's take a visual tour so you can see everything that it has to offer. It is time for the Texans to do something here on number nine. Tee box. Right. They got two holes to play. Yeah, they're two, they're two down. That's just getting ready to put his out there. Well, they need to at bo go birdie. Birdie. And if that doesn't work, then what they probably need to do is tackle jina, um, Nancy Carrigan type stuff. Yeah. Just put her in the car. Well, yeah, Tire, tire to the car. I know. I mean it's, she's been the difference. What's The trick here on number nine is he puts his T-ball out there. We're gonna see what, uh, what he does here. You know, you gotta kind of hug the left hand side as best possible. Pull fairway cameras from left to right. And this is one of those tee shots again. You're so high up, you're so exposed. And even just the slightest bit of wind though makes the biggest difference. So, I mean, Bob's gotta love this tee shot 'cause he can set that little, little chasing cut out there. Just take it right at that cart path and just let it peel from left to right. So I think this hole sets up beautifully for Him. Angela just walked past us with some game face on. Yeah. It wasn't, it wasn't the, you know, the like the first hole where everything was all smiles and whatnot. No, she, I don't think that she likes to, uh, to lose, which I Understand. Yeah, there's no question. There's some competitive juice in there. Earlier whole, she was all chatty with the membership and now she walked right to that tee box by herself and she's ready to get a ball. She, She's ready to go. She's dialed in. Let's see how she does. Let's do it. Actually think You were to, let's take it over to Hillary Kennedy who was able to catch up with Bob Estes right before this ninth poll. Alright. So let's tell people where we're at in the game. You guys are trailing just a little bit as we go into the home stretch. Yeah, we're two down with two holes to play. Um, Nick's been struggling a little bit, but Jarre has been playing great. Mm-Hmm. So there are five under, we're three under, but it's uh, it is a match, but it's not match play as far as I understand. So, um, 'cause we're keeping score best ball. Um, so you can still have a two or three show shot swing, um, you know, in one hole. So there, there's still hope for us. All right. Anybody's game. Alright, well good luck. Yeah. Okay. Thank, Thank you. Middle of the ninth fairway here we've got a little down slope. Angela laid a bomb out here. Oh, Just ripped it. Yeah, again, it goes back to that, uh, that game face. Mm-Hmm. Mentality she had, She knew she had to hit a big ball and she did. And so she's the last one to hit behind us. Mendoza just hit her shot her approach. This one's gonna be just right at it. Oh, terrific. Shot. Yeah. Yeah. Really nicely done. So she's not letting off. She's keeping the heat on. Yeah, But Angela's got some, there's definitely some room in between that second shot and the whole verdict to, to access. So she's got actually taking just left of the pin, like she just has to be really aggressive, which she has been. Now if it does what it should spin back to the Oh, just landed a foot too far. Oh boy. That would've that if that was a stand on the green, that it could just rip right back down from left to right. Right next to the flag. So somebody's gonna have to make a move on the Texas team with a big putt. Yeah. Somebody's gonna have to do something very, uh, sporty. Yes. Here, Let's go see how they do. Alright, so the two Texans Ridge are off, both off the green. They're both off the putting surface and they're gonna have to do something magical here. He's manufacturing something so it's, it's sitting goofy. A low scooter really just kind of grabbed, didn't it? How kinds of spin on it from uh, yeah. Oh, there was, that must have been up against the, uh, the collar. Not a very good lie, but that's a lot of spin on that. And this one pace is already built in. She just got to basically just get this thing started off in the correct line if she can. But Pace is literally just built in here. Just dump it onto the green and let gravity take over. Oh boy. Oh boy. That was a good effort. Yeah, That was a good Effort. Tough lies both of them. Rich. Maybe we'll see One more birdie here from Jina on number nine. Oh, Hit it All. Par around. But that doesn't help the Texans. Mm-Hmm. Even doesn't help 'em. Those are good. Yeah, I was about to say what? They're good. They're good. This is another one of those places where you wanna take out the fa the uh, camera, uh, the phone and just kind of start taking some pictures around here. Again, just spectacular views up here, you know, and what a hole. Oh yeah. This hole is, it's probably the toughest hole out here. Um, you know, you can barely see the fairway, even though once you get up there, there's basically almost a hundred yards from left to right out there. It just doesn't quite look at a couple of trees blocking it. There's some bunkers hitting on the right hand side. This is by far the most challenging, far forward. They got out here Behind us, Bob Estes and Nick Watney taking their final tee shots of our match today. The Texans have been closed out Yep. By Mendoza and Watney. And, uh, they're, they're just gonna have to enjoy this number 10 hole on its own merit. What a fantastic golf hole. Yeah. They're, they're, you know, unless something really disastrous happens, uh, it's just not Yeah. It's, it's just not in the cars for this year. Good. Bob Iconic horse should be a tower in the background. Yeah, That's right. Where their target is. I mean, that's, that's basically center cut for the fairway. Mendoza put hers right down the middle. See what Angela could do here with her closeout drive of the day. Oh yeah. Just striped it right down the middle. Yeah, right Down the heart of it. It's just, uh, they're both veterans and the membership seems to really enjoy this experience today. This is, this has been great turnout membership wise. It's nice to see everybody out here meeting some new folks, uh, saying some, saying howdy to some, uh, some friendly faces already. But, uh, no great turnout today On this adventurous hole. You can find your way to the green any number of ways. Yeah, you can. Uh, they definitely give you options for your second shot. You can be brave and go right at it over those trees or you can kinda work it around it left to right, but there's certainly not one distinct way of playing it. Well, we've got our final put off of the match here taking place behind us. We've got all four golfers on the green lined up various points around all of 'em, about 20, 25 feet or so. Once again, the youngsters, Mendoza and ney with an impenetrable Yeah. Lead. Not unless they both fall down and eat. Put these, Not likely. Nah, not likely. She's had a tremendous day today. Played very, very well. And they're gonna let her pick that one up and say, that's good. I said, mark it any coin will do. Oh, excellent effort there to slid it by find day for Mr. Watley. You know, I probably have a pretty good day too if I had Jina as my partner. Yeah. I think that kind of would makes life a little bit easier. Yeah, it does. Yeah. Yeah. Bob Esso with his close out attempted a birdie here on number 10. Gotta go. Oh, another roll. He'd had it in there. That was steady. He Knew it right. As soon as he hit it, he goes, that's not gonna get there. No, he just, he's rolled a few of those in his day to know, to know better. Lagging And just for a little bit of, uh, little bit of face saving here. Angela's gonna roll in a birdie. Yeah. You know, you know. I mean, just, Just like that. Right. Just like that. Um, I haven't really been practicing much this week, but, uh, you know, when you have awesome golf course and it's in really good shape, it's, it's easy to hit good shots. Right? We had beautiful weather outside. Great views. Nick, I wanna know, were you able to choose your own partner? What was going on here? Because I mean, if you, if you were, you chose very wisely. Yeah, well, we're actually undefeated as partners. We played, um, a few years ago in a, in a team event and won that as well. Um, and yeah, she was, darina was phenomenal today. So, um, they say sometimes the game is, is over on the first tee. And I, I had, I got, I chose correctly. So, um, yeah, she played. Great. Well, Now that you've had a chance to play the course for the first time, would you like to come back and try it again? 'cause it, it's a very challenging course, but it's a lot of fun. So would you like to give it another try sometime? Absolutely. Um, everybody here has been amazing. Um, you know, the place is, uh, is really phenomenal.
