A Variety of Golf Courses
Desert Mountain Golf Course offers a variety of golf courses to cater to different preferences and playing conditions. The golf courses include six Jack Nicklaus signature courses, each with its own unique design and challenges. One notable course is the Outlaw Golf Course, which stands out for its link-style layout and the absence of homes around it. This course provides a true golfing experience in the desert.
In addition to the six signature courses, Desert Mountain Golf Course recently introduced a new concept with its seventh course. This course consists of 18 par threes, making it a par 54 course. COCHISE! – The Cochise golf course stretches across the desert at 7,042 yards and requires some thought and strategy to post a good score.
APACHE – Apache is 7,211 yards, Par 72 course that challenges you both right and left. This is probably the most tradional golf course on the property at the moment.
GERONIMO – Geronimo is your most visually challenging golf course. Jack Nicklaus designed this course to intimidate you on every hole with his hills and uneven lies.
RENEGADE – The very first golf course to pop up in Desert Mountain, this was Jack’s first signature course on the property.
CHIRICAHUA – This is one of the newest golf courses at Desert Mountain and considered by many to be the pinnacle of desert mountain golf courses.
OUTLAW – More of a link style golf course, Outlaw plays on 176 acres right off the Tonto National Forest and can be challenging if you can’t control your golf ball.
NO. 7 – The newest member to the community, No. 7 is a par 3 executive course that gives you your fun and social golf within the community.
Perfect Playing Conditions Year-Round
One of the advantages of playing at Desert Mountain Golf Course is the availability of perfect playing conditions throughout the year. The golf courses are divided into three types: year-round cool-season grass courses and winter Bermuda-based overseeded courses. This means that no matter the time of year, golfers can expect excellent playing conditions. While other courses in the area may shut down during the hotter months, Desert Mountain Golf Course keeps 3 to 4 courses open, ensuring golfers can enjoy their favorite sport all year long.
