Gavin Parker and Phat Scooters
Gavin Parker is one of the best up and coming golf instructors in the nation. He was named to Golf Digests Best Young Teachers in America for 2021/2022 and is part of the 25 Flatstick Certified Coaches group…and exclusive group among instructors. He is currently the Director of the Robins Junior Golf Program in Virginia. We caught up with Gavin at the 2022 PGA Show to learn why he loves the Phat Scooters and how the Phat Scooters can help golfers get around the course faster and safer!
Gavin Parker recently joined in Petersburg to talk about Phat Scooters. Gavin is a big fan of the Phat Scooter and loves the sound, feel, and esthetic of the scooter.
Getting Comfortable on the Phat Scooter
Gavin said it was love at first sight when he first rode the Phat Scooter. He loves that you can sit down or stand up while riding and that the speed doesn’t go too fast. The Phat Scooter has three different speeds: 8 miles per hour, 13 miles per hour (recommended for golf courses), and 20 miles per hour.
Gavin has taken the Phat Scooter on the street a couple of times and said it goes fast and it’s easy to do. He also said that everyone loves looking at the person on the Phat Scooter.
Playing Golf
Gavin said that the Phat Scooter is great for the pace of play in golf. You can go fast and have a good time, but it’s also great for the turf itself because it’s a lot lighter than the traditional golf cart.
When asked which is safer and more fun for kids, Gavin said that the Phat Scooter is the way to go. Kids are used to getting on a scooter anyway and they handle new challenges faster than ever.
