Travis Mathew: Apparel For Work & Play
I was very excited about the opportunity to do a review of some apparel items from Travis Mathew. They can be seen being worn by Tour players every week on the PGA, Web.com and Champions Tour. So when I heard that I would be reviewing some items I couldn’t wait to see what showed up in the mail. They provided me with a nice selection of polos in a range of styles and colors, a couple of flex-fitted hats and a “wicked” comfortable T-shirt. If you think that Travis Mathew is just a golf clothing company than you need to take a look at their website. They offer just about anything under the California Sun when it comes to clothing items and accessory items.
Travis Mathew Hats
The two hats that they sent along were both, what I would call, a semi-fitted hat. They come in various size ranges and they have the “flex-fit” elastic banding on the inside of the hat. Both of these hats had the mesh style located in the back of the hat which makes them very comfortable to wear in the summertime. They offer a wide selection of hats varying in both color and styles. I know that people’s preferences when it comes to headwear can be all over the map but I am pretty sure you could find one to your liking.
Travis Mathew Polo’s
The polo shirt offerings from Travis Mathew are equally impressive when it come’s to choices of colors, fabric, prints and styles. The shirts I tried out ranged in color and fabric styles. They all came with a soft collar made out of the identical material the shirt was. The sleeves were loose fitting coming down to about my elbows, with ample room for movement around the arms and shoulders. I feel that the Travis Mathew polos run pretty true to size compared to other major shirt manufactures. There have been cases where some of the companies go for a slimmer and tighter looking fit and style, this is not the case here. The fabrics and stitching on the polos were all very comfortable and well done. They do suggest that you wash the item before wearing them for the first time which I think is fairly common. The material blend varied from polo to polo. Two of them were 65% pima cotton and 35% polyester, the white polo was a 96% polyester and 4% elastane combination. The red shirt was the softest in feel and was 51% cotton, 40% polyester and 9% Lycra. So there is quite a range of materials there. The golfer should be able to find the ideal choice for themselves. The summer is just heating up in the northeast and all of these polos provided a comfortable and breathable fabric. I did happen to get stuck in a quick shower while wearing the White shirt and when the sun came back out it was dry in no time at all. I am very impressed with the offerings from Travis Mathew when it comes to polo shirts.
Travis Mathew T-Shirts
The last item I have to talk about is a T-shirt they call “On the Rocks”. They offer quite a few T-shirts in what I would call a “Fun” themed print. Funny sayings Bushwood CC Champion, If you don’t golf you don’t start and the shirt I tried out On the Rocks which says “Give me a double” on it. The T-shirt was a 50% cotton, 50 % polyester blend. All of these T-shirts would be very comfortable to wear in a causal setting, sitting on the back deck during a family BBQ. It’s a great item for that golfer in your life that you would like to give something unique and different to.
I had a great time wearing and reviewing all of the items from Travis Mathew and would strongly suggest you take a moment and check out their website travismathew.com for all of their items. The list of great looking clothing items along with accessories are too long to mention in this one review. Go check out their website right now at travismathew.com
