Enhanced Sound, Exceptional Technology: The PING G Irons

Ping G Irons

PING has had a very busy 2016 so far. At the PGA Show they released their new line of G clubs. This includes the new G Driver, the G hybrids and the PING G irons. Most notably though, the PING G Irons are becoming a popular iron to have in your bag! The G irons are built with revolutionary technology that is changing the way irons are made. With the COR-Eye technology and the enhanced sounds, these irons are for the game improvement players. PING let Golf Life have an exclusive inside look at their booth at the 2016 PGA Show to learn more about these incredible clubs.

The PING G Irons Technology

Like we mentioned before, the G Irons are made with revolutionary technology and precision craftsmanship. Let’s start with the COR-Eye Technology. This technology involves the a very unique structure that allows the face to flex upon impact. Having the face flex allows for hotter face and an increase in ball speed and launch angle. It’s obviously that if you hit something with faster speeds and a higher laugh angle, the ball will go farther. The second piece of technology is the fact that it has a multi-material badge that joins to the cavity. This badge works directly with the COR-Eye improving your sound and feel. On top of that, there is perimeter weighting on each side of the face to give you the best MOI club on the market. Finally, it has the Custom Tuning Port on the sole to create a deeper CG. All that in one little iron. Image the technology in the driver or the hybrids!

OVERALL THOUGHTS

PING was created by Karsten Solheim in Redwood City, CA. Since 1959, PING has been assembling and building each custom iron set in the USA. In my opinion, the team over at PING has created a very forgiving and long iron. With the technology incorporated into the golf club, the PING G Irons are very consistent and reliable irons. The greatest thing about these irons, to me, is the way they sound. Sound is so important in the game of golf that it makes or breaks people. Have a solid, well-sounding iron can make all the difference in the world and these irons are exceptional in that category.
